Secretary of College Education, Asif Akram, has issued a directive to all college principals in Sindh, imposing a ban on teachers conducting private tutoring and coaching center classes during official working hours. The directive states that senior officials have been informed that some teachers are engaging in private tutoring during official working hours and are neglecting their assigned teaching responsibilities.

This has resulted in reduced student attendance and a disruption in the educational environment, which is deemed unprofessional, unethical, and completely unacceptable.   Secretary of College Education emphasized the critical responsibility teachers have in shaping the future of students and stated that their time and efforts should not be diverted from this vital task.

Therefore, all principals have been instructed to ensure that teachers remain present at the college during working hours and fulfill their duties as assigned. Teachers are strictly prohibited from engaging in tutoring or coaching activities during official working hours. Principals are urged to closely monitor teacher attendance and ensure that the teaching schedule is followed as per plan.

If any teacher is found violating these instructions, strict disciplinary action will be initiated against both the teacher and the concerned principal under the Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973.
