Apex Committee makes crucial decisions for improving law, order

As the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Apex Committee makes crucial decisions including dismantling of all bunkers in Kurram district with both the parties in the Kurram conflict to surrender their weapons in 15 days, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Friday agreed upon making coordinated efforts to address security challenges in the province and restoring peace and stability in the region.
A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and participated by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Corps Commander Peshawar Lt-Gen. Omer Ahmed Bukhari besides top Civil and military leaders, held detailed deliberations over the law & Order in the province and suggested measures to bring an end to the month’s long bloodshed in the Kurram district. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also separately held a meeting with the Chief Minister at the Chief Minister House Peshawar earlier. Both Mohsin Naqvi and Ali Amin Gandapur deliberated on the law and order situation and agreed upon making coordinated efforts to address security challenges in the province. The meeting particularly focused on measures to establish sustainable peace in the Kurram district. While Naqvi assured Gandapur of the federal government’s full cooperation in enhancing the capacity of law enforcement agencies to tackle terrorism and maintain peace, CM Gandapur also responded in affirmative. “Establishing peace in Kurram is our top priority, and steps will be taken in consultation with all stakeholders to achieve lasting stability”. The Interior Minister said adding the sacrifices of law enforcement personnel in the fight against terrorism would always be remembered. Chief Minister Gandapur echoed these sentiments saying “Together, we will fight the menace of terrorism and restore peace in the region.”
Gandapur said the martyrs were a source of pride for the nation, and we salute their eternal sacrifices. Both leaders also paid tribute to the martyrs of law enforcement agencies who have laid down their lives in the war against terrorism, reaffirming their commitment to honoring their sacrifices by ensuring peace and security in KP.
Later an all-important meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee was held at Chief Minister’s Secretariat with Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur in the chair. The meeting was attended by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, provincial cabinet members Aftab Alam, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, and Muzammil Aslam, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt-Gen Omer Ahmed Bukhari, Chief Secretary KP Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Muhammad Abid Majeed, and other senior civil and military officials.
