ABU DHBAI – The UAE’s Emirates Identity Card is mandatory for all nationals and residents, including Pakistani expatriates, as it serves as proof of identity and residency.

Previously, there were several steps to apply for a new Emirates ID card or renewal of it but now the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has made it hassle free by eliminating various steps.

The new changes make the process more efficient and customer-friendly for issuances of Emirates ID cards.

Emirates ID Card Process Reduced to One Step

The ICP has eliminated various steps to single step for issuance of the Emirates ID for expatriates, including Pakistanis, reducing it to one step.

The authority has removed six fields for the process regarding ID card. With the updated system, all fields are automatically filled when the customer’s last registered address is entered.

Now, the customers are no longer required to provide passport attachment, the summary of registration for citizens and personal photo to get Emirates ID card.

The system retrieves the data and photos of the customers automatically while there is an option to change the photo.

Emirates ID Card Fee in December 2024

Reports said the fee for getting new Emirates ID card with one year validity stands at 362 Dirhams while the fee for two-year validity period is 462 Dirhams.

The same fee applies to renewal of the Emirates ID card.
