PESHAWAR – Bushra Bibi, the wife of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan, remains in hot waters as a team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi left for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to arrest former First Lady in 190 million pound corruption case.
Reports claimed said arrest warrants have been issued for Bushra Bibi due to her continuous absence from court hearings. NAB team had earlier attempted to apprehend wife of PTI founder but the efforts were unsuccessful.
A new team has been formed today to carry out the arrest, and NAB KP has been instructed to fully cooperate. The team will also seek assistance from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police in executing the high-profile arrest.
The development comes after issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants by the Rawalpindi Accountability Court. The court previously directed anti-graft watchdog to detian Bushra Bibi and present her before the court on November 26. The case relates to alleged corruption involving 190 million pounds.
Last month, Bushra Bibi was released from Adiala Jail after being granted bail in a Toshakhana case. She had been detained for nine months since her arrest on January 31 in Toshakhana reference.
