Three-day Islamic leadership summit to begin today

The final arrangements for the second annual Ahle Sunnat Madaris Convention, also known as the Islamic Leadership Summit, have been completed. The event, organized by Saylani Welfare International Trust and Darul Uloom Memon, will take place from  November 9 to 11 in Karachi. More than 1,200 religious scholars, leaders, and educators from over 400 Ahle Sunnat madaris across Pakistan have arrived in the city for this significant gathering. The summit is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. on (Today) Saturday, November 9, at Darul Uloom Memon, located at the Memon Mosque in Bolton Market.

The opening session will feature a keynote address by Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooqi Qadri, the founder and chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust, at 10:30 a.m. Following this, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, the Grand Mufti of Pakistan, will deliver an important speech. Over the course of the three-day event, a wide range of educational and reform-focused discussions will take place. Scholars and educators will deliberate on the future of religious education in Pakistan, addressing curriculum updates, teaching methodologies, and strategies to improve the functioning of madaris. Attendees will also look at how best to navigate emerging challenges in religious education and optimize resources available to these institutions.

On Sunday, November 10, the session will feature a key speech by Allama Dr. Rizwan Ahmed Naqshbandi at 9:00 a.m. This will be followed by a critical discussion on the educational system’s relevance to contemporary needs, led by Afzal Chamria at 2:00 p.m. The event will conclude on Monday, November 11, with a closing address by Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman Bandyalvi at 11:30 a.m.
