KARACHI – The Sindh cabinet has approved an amount of Rs232.1 million for the re-conduct of the MDCAT (Medical and Dental College Admission Test) 2024.

The entrance test for medical colleges will be conducted under the supervision of IBA Sukkur this time after the Sindh High Court (SHC) nullified the results of previous MDCAT, which was conducted by Dow University of Health Sciences in September, over irregularities and cheating scandals.

During the cabinet meeting, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed the health department to form a vigilance committee in collaboration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.

He also instructed the secretary of Universities and Boards to ensure that the MDCAT results are announced at least one month in advance, in compliance with court orders.

MDCAT 2024 Retake Date in Sindh

The IBA Sukkur will re-conduct the MDCAT Test withing the next six weeks, the cabinet decided. A final date is yet to be announced by the educational institution.

MDCAT 2024 Retest Syllabus

The chief minister stated that the test will be based on the syllabus taught in the province to the students. The results from last year will not be accepted this year.

SHC Order

Earlier this week, the Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered the Dow University to reconduct the MDCAT after it approved petitions filed by students and their parents over alleged irregularities, mismanagement and paper leak.
