Land worth billions retrieved in Lahore’s Subzazar, China Housing Scheme

LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) retrieved 100 kanal land worth billions of rupees from illegal occupation during operations against land grabbers and encroachments in Lahore’s Subzazar and China Housing Scheme.

LDA teams removed dozens of huts, retrieving 80 kanal land in Subzazar’s D-Block. Last week, LDA has retrieved 100 kanal land from land grabbers in Subzazar’s E, F, J and L Blocks.

LDA teams also retrieved 20 kanal commercial land in the Gujjarpura China Housing Scheme after removing temporary and permanent constructions/encroachments.

LDA Director Housing IV Yawar Bashir and assistant commissioner Shalamar supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of heavy machinery and the Police.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq directed continuing operations and taking all possible measures to save public land. He directed fencing and the display of boards indicating that the properties were owned by the LDA.
