IG Sindh GhulamNabiMemon on Thursday chaired operational strategies meeting, key police officials gathered to discuss vital security measures and operational strategies. The meeting included Additional IGPs, welfare and works officials, DIGs, and all operational and investigation SSPs from Karachi, while divisional DIGs and SSPs participated via video link.

During the meeting, various security concerns were addressed, including the protection of Chinese nationals, actions against kidnapping for ransom, drug mafia operations, and the arrest of absconders and proclaimed offenders. The agenda also covered the appointments and transfers of SHOs, budget utilization in police stations, vehicle theft, murders, and the capture of suspects involved in the martyrdom of police personnel.

IG Memon emphasized the importance of monitoring the movement of Chinese nationals and reviewing security plans on a daily basis. “Any regular or irregular movements must be shared with local police,” he instructed.

He also urged SSPs to dedicate more time to their offices and address public issues effectively. “Continuous increases in police personnel at police stations are essential,” he stated, adding that police officers assigned to unauthorized individuals should be reassigned to police stations.

Further, IG Memon directed that cases concerning police security requests should be sent to the Threat Assessment Committee. He cautioned against unreasonable postings and transfers of SHOs, highlighting that maintaining law and order in the province relies on the long-term deployment of police officers. The IG also called for tightening the noose around facilitators in urban areas who assist bandits in rural regions.
