Ramadan 2027 likely to start on this date in Pakistan

Ramadan Moon Sighted In Pakistan First Fast On Thursday Feb 19

LAHORE – Ramadan is the ninth Islamic month and is regard as one of the important days of the year for Muslims across Pakistan.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is considered one of the holiest and most significant months of the year for Muslims across Pakistan.

During 29 or 30 days of Ramadan, Muslims around the world including Pakistan observe fasting from dawn until sunset.

Since the Islamic calendar is based on lunar cycles, Ramadan does not fall on the same Gregorian calendar dates every year.

Instead, the holy month begins approximately 10 to 12 days earlier each year, making its anticipated arrival an important date for Muslims worldwide.

When is Ramadan 2027 in Pakistan?

Astronomical calculations suggest that Ramadan in 2027 could commence on February 8 or 9 and conclude around March 8, depending on whether the holy month lasts 29 or 30 days. However, the dates are provisional and will be determined officially following the sighting of the crescent moon.

Eidul Fitr 2027 is expected to follow, potentially giving Pakistanis an extended holiday period.
