Under the Kisan friendly vision of the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government will provide markup free loans of Rs. 75 billion to five lakh farmers of the province including district Hafizabad. This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner Abdul Razzaq while inaugurating distribution of Kisan Cards among growers at district complex Hafizabad.
DC inaugurated the Kisan Card Scheme to give Kisan Card to President Awami Mahaz Hafizabad Rana Khalid Mehmood and other farmers. Deputy Director Agriculture Muhammad Yousaf, AC Munawar Hussain, Agriculture Officer Faraz Ahmad were also present on this occasion. DC said that with distribution of Kisan Cards, not only per acre agriculture yield would be increased but socio-economic condition of farmers also be improved.
He said that the government was taking all possible measures to bring agriculture revolution in the country because agriculture was backbone of national economy. Kisan cards are being given to farmers on merit so that no nay deserving grower deprive of benefits of Kisan Cards, he added.
On this occasion, Deputy Director Agriculture Muhammad Yousaf told that ten thousand Kisan Cards will be distributed among farmers phase wise and staff of Punjab Bank and Agriculture Department is issuing Kisan Cards at two centres established for this purpose in the district.
He also informed that Rs. 30 thousand per acre loan would be given to Kisan Cards holders farmers and every Kisan Card holder grower having five acre land could get Rs. 150000/= markup free loan for procuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other agriculture inputs.
