KARACHI – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested an assistant director of the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) involved in issuing national identity cards to Afghan citizens in Karachi.
The FIA spokesperson said the accused, along with accomplices, had issued Pakistani identity cards to Afghans. He added that efforts are underway to arrest his accomplices.
In another operation, the FIA raided an illegal travel agency office, arresting one suspect and seizing multiple identity and travel documents.
The spokesperson said that during the raid in Lyari, numerous passports and identity cards were recovered from the possession of the suspect.
The spokesperson added that during the search of the travel agency office, a laptop and other travel documents were also recovered.
