Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced relief for those using 200 units of electricity. Under the latest initiative, the government will provide free solar panels based on electricity consumption.
The government came up with green energy plan as electricity bills are touching all time high as new tariff slabs applied from July 1.
Punjab government will distribute free solar panels to consumers using 200 units, besides providing interest-free loans to consumers using 200 to 500 units, and for consumers using more than 500 units. The government will also contribute 75 percent towards the provision of interest-free loans.

In a ceremony, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said soaring electricity bills are very painful and she understands suffering of residents who are bearing brunt. Maryam said the government will make every possible effort to provide relief to the public.
