LAHORE – More intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate upper/central parts of Pakistan. A fresh westerly trough will likely affect most upper/central parts of the country from tonight.
Under these weather conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms with Isolated heavy falls are likely in Balakot, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Malakand, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Batagram, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Kark, Tank, Khyber, Mohmand, Bajaur, Kurrum, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan on Friday night and the next two days with occasional gaps.
Torrential rains may cause flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Galyat, Manshera, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Dir and Swat from tonight till July 07. Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Peshawar. Landslides may disrupt traffic in hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Saturday and 37-39°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.

Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C.
In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 63 per cent.
