Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that PHP teams are diligently performing their duties to protect lives and properties of the citizens, prevent accidents, ensure smooth traffic flow, and uphold rule of laws on all highways of the province. IG Punjab instructed that PHP teams should enhance field patrolling in their beat areas, prioritizing actions to curb law violations, prevent crimes, and assist and guide citizens. These instructions were issued as he reviewed the monthly performance of Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP). PHP Headquarters released its performance report for May 2024.

According to the details, PHP checked 3.14 million persons on highways through the e-police post app, arrested 529 wanted criminals/judicial fugitives, PHP checked 1.60 million vehicles across the Punjab highways, recovering 267 stolen vehicles/motorcycles. Under the road safety campaign, 273,815 e-challans were issued for traffic violations, and 132,305 overloaded vehicles were fined for axle load violations, collecting a total of 112 million rupees in fines. Legal action was taken against 1,171 vehicles for the illegal use of gas cylinders, and 11,662 driving licenses were issued for the convenience of citizens. Additionally, 87 missing children were reunited with their parents.
