The Pakistan Army led security forces in an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) conducted in the Tank district on Thursday mowed down at least three hard core militants. The killed miscreants, the Military’s Media wing said, besides carrying out anti state activities were also involved in the abduction of District & Sessions Judge South Waziristan District ShakirUllahMarwat from Kulachi Tehsil of DI Khan Friday last.
“On May 2, 2024, security forces conducted a joint intelligence based operation in Tank District, on reported presence of terrorists. During the conduct of the operation, after intense fire exchange, three terrorists were successfully neutralized and sent to hell. These terrorists have been identified as, Terrorist Ringleader Azmat alias Azmatay, Terrorist Ringleader Karamat alias Hanzla and Terrorist Rehan” says an Inters Services Public Relations (ISPR) communiqué issued on Thursday.
The killed terrorists, ISPR said, remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area including recent abduction of District & Sessions Judge of South Waziristan District, adding the security forces remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.
Locals of the area hailed the forces commitment to act against the anti-state elements and ensuring peace in the region.
