Illegally detained senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Nayeem Ahmed Khan has expressed serious concern over fresh arrest spree unleashed by Indian troops in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, urging the international community to stop Modi regime from committing atrocities against the innocent Kashmiris.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Nayeem Ahmad Khan in a message from notorious Tihar Jail in New Delhi said that the Indian troops have stepped up cordon and search operations and illegal arrests of youth in the occupied territory ahead of the so-called Indian parliamentary elections.
He said the Modi government has snatched every right including the right to freedom of expression in the occupied territory where dissent is being brutally suppressed and political and human rights activist are being arrested on a large scale.

The incarcerated APHC leader lamented that many detained Kashmiris have been imprisoned in Indian jails far away from their homes. He made it clear that the Kashmiris were only demanding freedom from Indian illegal rule and their birthright, the right to self-determination, adding the people in IIOJK have nothing to do with the Indian parliamentary elections.

Naeem Ahmed Khan in his message also paid glorious tribute to the martyred resistance leader Shaheed S. Hameed Wani on his 26th martyrdom anniversary, today. He said that S. Hameed sacrificed his life for a great cause. Notably, S. Hameed Wani was martyred by Indian troops on April 18, 1998 after arresting him on the same day in Soura area of Srinagar.—KMS
