Thatta

A dire health crisis has engulfed Thatta district, as over 300 individuals have been hospitalized in the past two days due to severe cases of diarrhoea. The historic city of Thatta finds itself at the epicenter of this alarming situation, with contaminated water sources and unsanitary living conditions being identified as the root causes.

Despite the urgency of the situation, both the health department and municipal administration have been criticized for their lack of swift action in addressing these critical issues. The outbreak of diarrhoea has prompted widespread concern throughout the district, with the number of affected individuals steadily rising. District Head Quarter Hospital Makli alone has admitted over 300 patients in the past 24 hours, representing a cross-section of demographics including men, women, and children. Civil Hospital Makli has also been inundated with an influx of patients seeking medical assistance.

This health crisis extends beyond the borders of Thatta, with reports indicating hundreds of cases in neighboring coastal cities such as Ketibander, Ghorabari, Mirpursakro, Gharo.
