The Indian National Congress chapter in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has said that the BJP-led Indian government is denying the Kashmiri people their democratic rights to dis-empower them politically and economically.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the IIOJK Congress chapter working president Raman Bhalla reacting to the current socio-political and security situation in IIOJK said there was restlessness among the public given the denial of democratic rights. He was addressing a gathering in RS Pura area of Jammu.
He questioned what the people of IIOJK achieved after abrogation of the territory’s special status. He added that downgrading of J&K into two union territories was an unfortunate move done by the BJP in order to rule the territory directly from New Delhi which, he said, was tantamount to dismantling the very foundation of the democracy.
Bhalla said that divisive and misleading politics of BJP was responsible for the chaos and confusion in the occupied territory as well as India. He maintained that his party would continue to fight the nefarious designs and wrong policies of the BJP.—INP
