Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has authorized the use of her official helicopter for the emergency transfer of patients.

This initiative comes in response to incidents of lives lost due to delayed access to medical care, particularly in remote areas.

Expressing her concern over the tragic consequences of delayed hospital arrivals, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of swift transportation for patients in critical conditions. “People lose their lives because they do not reach the hospitals on time,” she regretted.

Maryam also said that in the event of an accident in remote regions, it was essential to shift the victims to hospital on time.

The decision to utilize the chief minister’s helicopter for emergency patient transfers follows an incident at Sargodha Hospital, where Maryam said she was extremely distressed at seeing the helplessness of a heart attack patient unable to receive timely medical assistance. Moved by this experience, she resolved to take proactive measures to enhance emergency medical services across Punjab.

Furthermore, the chief minister announced plans to launch Rescue 1122 services on motorways, further bolstering the province’s emergency response capabilities.
