Pakistan Army chief unveils HAIDER tank during visit to Heavy Industries Taxila

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir on Wednesday unveiled state of art HAIDER tank during his visit to Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), ISPR said.

In a statement, Inter-Services Public Relations said COAS graced the rolling out ceremony of HAIDER tank.

Chinese Ambassador, key officials of Chinese state company NORINCO, high officials of the Government of Pakistan & Pakistan Army, and various military and civilian officials of HIT also attended the event.

Military’s media wing said HAIDER Tank has been indigenously manufactured through collaboration with NORINCO China and various industries of Pakistan.

The modernized main battle tank represents the pinnacle in tank warfare technology, boasting impressive firepower, protection, and maneuverability. It was designed using cutting-edge technologies, and showcases Pakistan’s defense industry’s commitment to excellence and innovation in defense.

During the high level visit, the top general was provided with detailed information about the technical capabilities of HAIDER tank and the progress made in achieving self-reliance in arms production.

It said Gen Asim also visited other manufacturing facilities within the Heavy Industrial Complex, praising dedication of the officers and troops in touching another tech milestone.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff was welcomed by Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT).
