The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly unanimously approved a resolution strongly rejecting the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A by Indian government terming these a dirty conspiracy against the state subjects and their democratic rights.
Deputy Speaker Sardar Amir Altaf presided over the special session of the Assembly here on Thursday.
The AJK legislators through a resolution presented by Leader of the House Raja Farooq Haider Khan rejected implementation of Indian constitution and strongly denounced revocation of the special status of the dispute territory.
The resolution says that articles 370 and 35-A were aimed to change demography of the state. Under these articles non-state subjects were not allowed to get government jobs as well as purchase property in the held valley. Through these articles, Indian government declared Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as Indian Union Territories which is a sheer violation of UNSC resolutions and a direct attack on democratic rights of Kashmiri people. Indian attempts have jeopardized peace in the region. Tension in the region will automatically affect world’s peace. It is the responsibility of the international organizations to stop India from its jingoistic designs.
The house expressed reservation over the large scale movement of Indian troops in the held valley and demanded immediate withdrawal of the illegal occupant forces.
The House demanded UN Secretary General to enhance military observers at ceasefire line so that Indian aggression at Line of Control (LoC) could be checked effectively.
The House lauded the morale of people living near LoC and paid tribute to the armed forces for giving a befitting response to the Indian firing.
The House also lauded all political forces and civil society of Pakistan for expressing their complete solidarity with the people of Occupied Kashmir.
Members both from treasury and opposition benches thoroughly debated on the current situation in the Occupied Valley and strongly condemned New Dehli’s move to abrogate Article 370 and 35-A.
They vowed to continue struggle for the UN recognized right to self determination and said the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan will back their brothers and sisters in the occupied Valley.
Earlier, expressing his views on the resolutions moved by members of Legislative Assembly session on Thursday, The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that Pakistan is a strong wall against expansionist designs of New Dehli government.
He said such illegal steps will affect the region from Kabul to Bangladesh.
The Premier said that the recent illegal steps taken by Narrinder Modi led government has converted Line of Control into Ceasefire Line. We again stand at a position of 1947.
“Ex Chief Minister of Occupied Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has acknowledged that we have made a great mistake by not accepting two nation theory of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the price of which is paying by Kashmiris”, PM added.
He said India is conspiring genocide of Kashmiris on large scale which will have its fall out on Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Raja Farooq Haider said that delegations in consultation with the Opposition will be constituted and send abroad to raise Kashmir issue forcefully.
He also appealed Prime Minister of Pakistan to adopt a uniform policy on Kashmir issue by gathering all political parties on one platform.The AJK Prime Minister also expressed reservations over arrest of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and said it will affect national solidarity
