ISLAMABAD – The latest round of talks between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz PML-N and Pakistan People’s Party PPP turned out to be fruitful as hazy picture about who will form next government seems to be clearing out.
The development comes as Shehbaz Sharif held detailed discussions with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Both sides agreed that PPP-nominated candidates would get coveted posts of President, Chairman Senate, and Governors in Punjab and KP.
Meanwhile, Nawaz League will bring own candidate for speaker of the National Assembly while PPP will not be a part of the federal cabinet. Shehbaz Sharif and PPP leaders announced the decision at a press conference in the capital Islamabad.
Both leaders met at Ishaq Dar’s residence to chalk out the strategy for coalition government. Seasoned politicians Malik Ahmad,Azam Nazeer Tarar, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Murad Ali Shah were also present.
PPP Chairman numbers of party with PML-N to form coalition government are complete while Shehbaz Sharif said his party got required numbers to form next government.
Senior politicians thanked leadership of both sides for positive conclusion. Shehbaz was of view that numbers are now complete with PPP to elect Asif Ali Zardari as the next president. Both sides also thanked MQM-P and Q-League in this regard.
Sharif said journey ahead for next government will not be easy but one fraught with many woes and obstacles but the coalition alliance will fight them together.
