LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President and Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz rejected the rumors that party Supremo Nawaz Sharif was distancing himself from the politics.

Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, Maryam Nawaz said that refusing the offer of the prime ministry did not mean Nawaz Sharif was stepping back from the politics.

“There is no truth in the notion that Nawaz Sharif is distancing himself from politics. Over the next five years, not only will he actively participate in politics, but he will also lead his governments in the federation and Punjab,” she said.

Maryam Nawaz, the nominated candidate for the Punjab chief ministry from the PML-N, also said that the people had given a clear majority to Nawaz Sharif in all three governments.

“Those who are familiar with Nawaz Sharif’s principles know his stance. Shahbaz Sharif and I are his soldiers,” she said.

The PML-N Supremo also prayed, “We are bound by his orders and will work under his leadership and supervision. May Allah grant us success,”.

Nawaz Sharif had earlier nominated Shahbaz Sharif for the prime ministership and Maryam Nawaz for the chief ministership of Punjab.

PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb had mentioned that Nawaz Sharif had given formal approval to the names of the candidates from the PML-N for the prime ministership and chief ministership of Punjab.
