PTI backed candidates make clean sweep in Abbottabad

PTI backed independent candidates made clean sweep in Abbottabad district as their supported candidates won all the National and provincial assembly seats. Among the major loser was the former deputy speaker of National Assembly MurtazaJavedAbbasi who lost on National assembly seat against Ali Asghar Khan, the youngest son of former Air Chief Late Air Marshal RtdAsghar Khan who was his arch rival in last election also.

Former speaker KP Assembly Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani who is also central vice president of PTI retained his seat though he came back from UK just 5 days back from the election date. Aurangzeb Nulhota of PML (N) who is winning his seat for the last two elections could not make come back. Visit of PML (N) Organizer Maryam Nawaz could not make any impact on the sympathies of the voters as she was the only central leader who had addressed big public meeting while none of other party could hold big public meeting before election.

In NA-16 and 17, Independent candidates Ali Asghar Khan and Ali Khan Jadoon won the both the Abbottabad seats while in the four Provincial assembly seats,PK-42 NazeerAbbasi (Ind) has retained his seat,43 Rajab Ali Abbasi ( Ind),44 Iftikhar Ahmed Khan Jadoon (Ind) and 45 Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani (Ind).

In NA-16, Total votes polled were 241,058 and Ali Asghar Khan got 104,993 while his close rival MurtazaJavedAbbasi ( PML_N) got 86,276 votes turn out remain at 44.80%. In NA-17, total votes polled were 172,663 and Ali Khan Jadoon (Ind) retained his seat as in 2018 he won it from PTI side by securing 97,177 votes while his close rival was Mohabat Khan who got 44,522 votes. Turn out remain at 44.37 %.

For the provincial assembly seats, PK-42, NazeerAbbasi (Ind) secured 35,443against his rival SardarFareed Ahmed who got 27,623 votes. Total votes poled were 100,207 and turn out recorded at 44.79%.In PK-43, Rajab Ali Khan Abbasi won the seat by securing 41,242 against his close rival Khalid Rehman of PML (N) who got 20,733 votes. Total votes poled were 116,624 and turn out remain at 45.54%. In PK-44, Iftikhar Ahmed Jadoon won the seat by getting 34,867 votes against his rival from PML (N) Sardar Aurangzeb Nulhota who secured 32,585 votes.
