ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday appealed to the Islamabad High Court seeking bail in the Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust cases.

Imran Khan approached the IHC after an accountability court turned down his pleas for bail after arrest in both the cases

The PTI founder moved two bail applications, submitting that the bail should be granted until the final decision in the cases.

He made the NAB Chairman, NAB DG, and investigating officers as respondents in his applications.

Khan said that former NAB Chairman Aftab Sultan, despite pressure, denied creating politically motivated cases against him.

He said that the charges against him were politically motivated.

It’s important to note that in the previous hearing, the court had scheduled hearings on Imran Khan’s £190 million case and the Toshakhana reference jail trial.

The Islamabad High Court had issued notices to the parties involved in jail trial of the founder of PTI in NAB cases.

The court had also sought a response from the Interior Secretary, remarking that the case should be heard before a designated bench.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had reserved judgment on Imran Khan’s appeals in the Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust cases against the jail trial. The hearing, scheduled for January 17, involved the High Court directing the Chief Justice to constitute a divisional bench for hearings related to jail trials in Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust cases.
