A court of infamous Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA), acting on the diktat of Indian Home Minister Amit Shah, today, declared 23 Kashmiris hailing from Kishtwar district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as “proclaimed offenders” for challenging India’s illegal occupation over their motherland.

13 Kashmiris were already declared proclaimed offenders by the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) Special Court, Doda thereby making a total of 36 proclaimed offenders.

The court gave them a month to appear before it in connection with ‘false’ cases registered against them, failing which their properties will be attached.

It is pertinent to mention here that India under Narendra Modi has formulated a policy to declare all pro-freedom activists as “proclaimed offender” and then attach their properties on the charge of being anti-India.—KMS
