Protest demonstrations were held in Udhampur and Kupwara districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the anti-people policies of the authorities.

According to Kashmir Media Service, people staged a strong protest at Salathia Chowk in Ud-hampur town against 100 percent hike in toll at Chenani-Nashri Toll Plaza. The protesters were raising slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian government and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). They also burnt the effigy of BJP government and NHAI for 100 percent increase in tax at the toll plaza.

The residents of Magam in Kupwara district held a demonstration against the Water Resources Department for failing to ensure regular supply of potable drinking water to the area for the past several days.

The protesters said that the area was reeling under acute shortage of water for the past seventeen days, yet the authorities had failed to restore water supply or take any tangible measure despite repeated pleas.—KMS
