Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson lauded the Peshawar High Court (PHC) for its order against Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) prejudiced decision regarding PTI’s intra-party poll. He demanded that the electoral watchdog should shun its biased approach and instantly release the party’s electoral symbol “bat’ to clear the cloud of uncertainty on the political horizon.
PTI spokesperson expressed gratitude to the PHC on behalf of the PTI for restraining ECP to pass any adversarial order pertaining to PTI’s intra-party polls. He made it clear that “bat” was, is and will remain the aspirations of the nation and political identity of millions of Pakistani voters. PTI spokesperson reiterated that PTI conducted intra-party poll in line with the party constitution and election laws. Consequently, neither there is any point to raise objections nor the ECP had any justification in this regard.
He went on to say that the Chief Election Commissioner’s (CEC) visible prejudice against PTI and flawed decisions based on his malicious intents attempting to sideline PTI from the electoral race were enough to prove that the commission was flouting its constitutional mandate. PTI spokesperson emphasized that there would be no need to knock at the doors of the courts for such issues if the electoral watchdog realized its due constitutional role and restricted itself to plying it instead of becoming a tool of political engineering.
He pointed out that facts and evidence on the ground were clearly proved that through its flawed decisions, the ECP under the leadership of Sikandar Sultan Raja had become the most biased commission in history and was the main facilitator of unconstitutional invasion against democracy.
