Who Are Chairman And Ceo Of New Pakistan Crypto Council

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has reported a massive security breach with an estimated financial impact of $6.3 billion, potentially making it the largest cryptocurrency heist in history.

Following the incident, the company has taken several emergency security measures, including temporary suspension of deposits and withdrawals, and cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

In an official announcement issued on October 30, 2026, Binance said its preliminary investigation indicated that an attacker may have exploited a compromised laptop belonging to a DevOps engineer to gain access to a service container and initiate unauthorized withdrawal transactions.

The company clarified that its investigation had found no evidence of any compromise involving wallet private keys.

As an immediate precaution, Binance temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while its security teams conducted additional checks. The exchange also revoked authorization for the affected address and began working with blockchain partners to identify, freeze and recover the assets.

Binance reported that approximately $3 billion in affected assets had been frozen on-chain so far. The company acknowledged that different figures had been circulating publicly, including reports suggesting that $1.8 billion had been frozen, but said its currently verified figure stood at around $3 billion.

The exchange added that the frozen amount could increase as its teams continue coordinating with law enforcement agencies, cryptocurrency issuers, blockchain intelligence firms and other industry partners.

In a related development, two cryptocurrency addresses holding approximately 313 million USDT and 971 million USDT were frozen within a one-minute interval between 5:10 and 5:11 UTC+8. According to ChainCatcher, Whale Alert tracked the transactions, bringing the combined frozen amount to approximately 1.28 billion USDT.

Binance also assured customers that it would absorb all losses associated with the incident through its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) and company resources. The exchange maintained that user funds remain safe.

The company said its response involved extensive cooperation with other participants across the cryptocurrency industry, who assisted in identifying and freezing affected assets.

Binance has also contacted law enforcement authorities and blockchain intelligence partners to support efforts to trace and recover the funds.

The exchange said it would release a comprehensive technical post-mortem report once the investigation was completed and the facts had been verified. It also plans to publish an updated Proof of Reserves following the completion of security remediation measures.
