Illegally detained senior APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party Shabbir Ahmad Shah while condoling the death of the father-in-law of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt has deplored that India has deprived the Kashmiri political prisoners of the right to attend the funeral of their relatives.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the jailed leader in a statement from New Delhi’s Tihar jail said the law permits a prisoner to visit a sick relative and attend his or her funeral after death, but India has restricted this right to the Kashmiris. He urged international human rights organizations to raise their voice against the Indian government’s cruel attitude towards Kashmiri political detainees.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased.
Meanwhile, father of All Parties Hurriyat Conference-AJK leader Nazir Karnai passed away in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today. The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter at a prayer meeting in Islamabad, today, expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of Muhammad Maqbool Lone, father-in-law of illegally detained APHC Chairman Masarat Alam Butt. The participants of the meeting, presided over by Convener Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, expressed solidarity with the bereaved family members and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
They also condoled the deaths of the father of Hurriyat leader Nazir Karnai, mother of Hurriyat activist Shahnawaz Malik and mother of Hurriyat activist Fayaz Ahmad.—KMS
