The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered a total of 1,364 kilograms of drugs and arrested eight suspects during nine different operations across the country. In a detailed statement, an ANF spokesperson said that 7 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a parcel sent from Quetta at Jinnah International Airport Karachi. Additionally, 1 kilogram and 593 grams of ice were recovered from a passenger’s trolley bag at Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar. The accused was leaving for Qatar by flight number QR-601.
Furthermore, 792 grams of heroin were recovered from a parcel booked for Great Britain at the courier office in Lahore. During an operation near Motorway Toll Plaza Islamabad, 36 kilograms of opium and 28 kilograms and 800 grams of hashish were recovered from a vehicle. Two suspects were arrested during this operation.
In another operation near Sangjani Toll Plaza Islamabad, 18 kilograms of opium and 12 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a truck. Two suspects were also arrested during this operation. Additionally, 4 kilograms and 800 grams of hashish and 1 kilogram of ice were recovered from a vehicle near Shershah Toll Plaza Multan. The accused was taken into custody.—APP
