World needs to tackle issues posing threats to global peace: Bilawal

Chairman Pakistan People’s Party BilawalBhuttoZardari has said that international community needs to tackle theissues, which pose serious threats to global peace and harmony.”Violence, cross-border terrorism, Islamophobia, illegal occupation ofterritories, global economic & climatic injustices and human inequalityare the key dangers to a sustainable peace on earth,” he stated in hismessage on the International Peace Day being observed on Thursday,September 21, worldwide under the aegis of the United Nations.

PPP Chairman stressed that world has also to take actions againstinjustices, atrocities, discriminations among humans and exploitation ofthe poor, downtrodden and voiceless people to achieve the greater goalof peace on the planet.He further said that global community needs to promote and encouragedemocracies in the developing countries to augment equality and fairnessamong the societies faced with discontents, confrontations and conflictsof different natures. Protecting human rights of all people is alsoindividual as well as collective responsibility of all nations, headded.

The United Nations is celebrating the International Peace Day with thetheme – Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals. Accordingto UN, it is a call to action that recognizes our individual andcollective responsibility to foster peace.Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistani people, its leadership andthe armed forces have suffered huge sacrifices during their role as afrontline fighters against the international terrorism as we lost Muslimworld’s first elected Prime Minister ShaheedMohtarma Benazir Bhuttoamong more than 80,000 civilians and military personnel in the waragainst terrorism.

He said that people of Kashmir and Palestine are looking towards theworld leaders for their much-awaited freedoms as they are beingsubjected to worst kind of atrocities even in the modern world. Growingincidents of Islamophobia, target-killings in foreign lands like thegruesome murder of Hardeep Singh in Canada at the hands of Indianterrorists and cross-border terror attacks in Pakistan and elsewhere arealso form severe threats to the international peace.

PPP Chairman vowed that Pakistan People’s Party will continue itsstruggle for peace in the country as well as in the whole world. Ourmotto is to serve the masses for removal of poverty and injustice, andpromoting equality and harmony among the people through a democraticsystem under the unanimous Constitution of Pakistan.
