The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has paid rich tribute to the noted martyred Kashmiri Hurriyat activist Muhammad Riaz, also known as Abu Qasim.
The APHC-AJK Convener, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, in a statement issued in Islamabad said the family of Muhammad Riaz has made a lot of sacrifices for the freedom movement. He said that Muhammad Riaz’s father and brother were also martyred by Indian troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Muhammad Riaz was an extremely noble person full of the spirit of freedom and had a great feelings for his oppressed people.
The APHC-AJK Convener said the martyr’s services for the freedom movement will always be remembered. He said that the holy sacrifices of lakhs of Kashmiri martyrs will not be allowed to go waste and the struggle for freedom from Indian illegal occupation will be taken to its logical conclusion at all costs. He prayed for the elevation of the status of the martyr and expressed solidarity with his family members.
Muhammad Riaz belonged to the Poonch dis-trict of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the Indian atrocities had forced him to migrate to Azad Kashmir. Mohammad Riaz was shot dead by an unidentified person in Rawalakot town of AJK, yesterday.—KMS
