Tribal elders have issued a joint statement and said that the 21-hour load shedding period announced by TESCO on various feeders of South Waziristan Lower district could not be reduced for the past several months.
Tribal elders said that instead of 21 hours electricity supply should be ensured for 12 hours, as business activities are badly affected due to non-availability of electricity. The tribal elders said that due to load shedding for a long time, the residents of different areas of Wana are in serious trouble.
Local dignitaries, notables and citizens expressed deep concern and grief over the announced 21-hour load shedding in Wana Waziristan.
On this occasion they criticized the performance of the caretaker federal minister for water and electricity and TESCO, that there is no decrease or change in the announced 21 hours load shedding schedule by TESCO, so the announced load shedding should be reduced immediately.
However, due to load shedding, women are facing serious problems, due to lack of water in their homes, women are forced to carry water on their heads or donkeys.
On the other hand, the shopkeepers in the area are also worried about the load shedding, despite repeated complaints, the concerned SDO and other staff could not reduce the announced load shedding in Wana.
