A court of India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA) issued a non-bailable warrant against a liberation activist for actively participating in the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian illegally occupation.
The NIA Court in Kulgam district on the appli-cation of Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Indian police issued non-bailable warrant against Basit Ahmad Dar in an FIR registered against him in a false case in Qazigund police station in the district.
On the other hand, Additional Sessions Judge Baramulla, Pawan Kumar Sharma, who is follower of Hindutva ideology of RSS and BJP, rejected the bail application of a Hurriyat activist Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganai booked by the Indian police in Sopore town in a fake case under black law, Public Safety Act. He has been in police custody for the last five months.
Meanwhile, Justice MA Chowdhary upheld the illegal detention of another Hurriyat member, Fayaz Ahmed Kumar, booked under the PSA.—KMS
