The Security forces Friday frustrated a terror attack on a Police Check post, fourth within 48 hours, in the outskirts of the provincial metropolis.
In fact the Security forces continued to be under attack in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province as a day earlier at least six Police men were martyred and around a dozen other sustained serious injuries in couple of suicide blasts targeting government installations in Khyber tribal district and ambush on a police Check post in the provincial metropolis on Thursday the first day of Muharram ul Haraam.

Likewise a powerful suicide explosion targeting a vehicle of the security forces near Frontier Corps headquarters at Hayatabad, a posh locality of Peshawar on Tuesday had left at least 10 people including seven men in uniform seriously wounded.

In the latest attack on Friday wee hours as many as eight terrorists were forced to flee before committing a crime when police personnel fought back as the militants tried to attack the Riaz Shaheed Police Post in Sarband area in the outskirts of Peshawar As a result of police remaining “high alert,” the cops effectively thwarted the attack as terrorists tried to target the check post at night taking advantage of the dark. Superintendent of Police Cantt Waqas Rafiq told newsmen.
