Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Wednesday said that no decision has been made to ban the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for May 9 vandalism.

Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, he said that the May 9 incidents were planned. “The ban on the PTI is being reviewed yet and the parliament will be taken into confidence on the final decision. A Pakistani cannot possess the designs being possessed by Imran Khan,” he added.

The minister said that the attack on the military installations was the last tactic of Imran Khan. “His party will not be able to carry the burden of the decisions made by Imran Khan,” he added.

The minister called the May 9 incidents the gravest in the history of the country as the PTI men targeted military installations. Never in the past, had protesters attacked the military sites, he added.

The minister said the PTI challenged the foundation of the state. They attacked the ISI offices and the GHQ, and tried to enter Cantonment in Sialkot but that attack was repulsed. They set fire to the Lahore Corps Commander’s house. He said, “we all believe that only India can do such things like attacking military installations but not any Pakistani.” The coalition government would take every step to prevent others from targeting the army in the future, he maintained.
