BAHAWALPUR – Former lawmaker of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Amir Dogar, and PML-N candidate Tariq Rasheed were held following a clash outside Election Commission’s district office.
Leaders of the political rivals clashed outside the commission’s office amid the submission of nomination papers for the NA-155 constituency.
More than a dozen workers were also detained from the guest house of the PTI leader as cops raided the Dera, arresting activists allegedly involved in a violent incident.
District Election Commissioner Saleem Akhtar also accused political workers to vandalise the office of the tribunal district office and for turmoil.

Following the raids, senior PTI leaders strongly condemned Dogar’s arrest and accused the government of oppression against party workers.
Asad Umar and other senior leaders slammed the caretaker government for showing partiality, calling it ‘pressure tactics’ to run away from the electoral process.
