Chelsea continued to struggle in the Premier League this season with another draw against Fulham at home despite rolling out their prized new signings.
Enzo Fernandez was named a starter after just 72 hours with Benoit Badiashile and Mykhailo Mudryk also making the starting XI.
But, despite a considerable improvement, their struggles in front of the goal continued during the 0-0 draw.
The world cup winner did show why the Blues spent a British record fee to sign him, dictating the play for his new team. His perfectly lofted pass sent Mason Mount on his way before Tim Ream prevented Mount’s pass from finding Kai Havertz for an easy goal.
Just a few moments later Fernandez sent Hakim Ziyech on his way whose effort went wide of the Fulham goal as the Argentine continued to impress Chelsea fans.
Havertz missed his side’s best chance of the half when his lofted shot hit the post after finding himself one-on-one with Bernd Leno.
The visitors eventually found their footing as time wore on with Andreas Pereira drawing a diving save from Kepa Arrizabalaga before Willian did so too in the second half.
Graham Potter turned to more January signings in Noni Madueke and David Datro Fofana as he looked for a decisive goal and the latter almost did so with 11 minutes remaining.
Fofana rounded up Leno but Ream cleared his goal-bound shot off the line to rescue a point for his team.
Chelsea remains 9th in the league table with 30 points after their draw, 9 adrift of the champions league places while Fulham sits 6th with 32 points.
