A local court on Thursday awarded life imprisonment and other punishments to a convict of murder case. The Additional District and Sessions Judge Naeem Abbas while giving verdict of a murder case, awarded life imprisonment to the convict, Muhammad Naveed and also ordered him to pay Rs 300000 as compensation to the legal heirs of the murdered person.
The worthy judge also awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment to the convict, in the same case, for concealing evidence. The judge ordered the acquittal of the one of co-accused namely, Shafique, by giving him the benefit of doubt. A co-accused, Tanvir has been declared as proclaimed offender, while a female co-accused, Shazia, has been murdered earlier. According to the prosecution, the convict and his accomplices had kidnapped and then murdered Muhammad Younis in village Bhadal, in the limits of the Sadder Sialkot police station, over old enmity.
