A news was published on electronic media by a section of press on 07th January 2020 and it was erroneously reported that the Ministry of Law has denied clearance to the Russian consortium for North South Gas Pipeline project consisting of PAO TMK – a leading global player in the oil and gas pipeline industry – on account of enlistment of its Chairman namely Dmitry Pumpyansy in the so-called US sanctions watchlist. The news reported turns out to be false and not confirmed by any official memorandum of the Law Ministry. The true position is that the Law Ministry has only sought input from the Attorney General’s office which has not been formally received to date.—PR
