Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed concern over custodial killings of youth in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said labeling Kashmiri youth as hybrid militants and arresting them under draconian laws has become routine in IIOJK.

Referring to Sajad Ahmad Tantray’s killing, he said, “This is the second such custodial killing in just over a month in south Kashmir… another youth labelled as hybrid militant, Imran Bashir Ganaie, was arrested and later killed in a similar fashion while he was (being) taken to identify a militant hideout.”

“Thousands of youth arrested from all parts of IIOJK in such a manner are languishing in jails without trial,” he deplored.—KMS
