The rapid increase of encroachments along the National Highways at GT road Gondal Mandi Attock left unchecked causing hurdles in vehicular flow on the Punjab- KPK inter provincial route besides colossal loss to the national exchequer. While, the law enforcement authorities kept mum despite repeated directives of the Federal and Provincial Governments to deal with these encroachments on state lands with iron hands irrespective of their political affiliation.
The socio-political circles of the area told this scribe on Monday that all relevant authorities are fully aware that in pursuance of orders 2018 of the apex court, active campaign against the encroachments was launched by the district management of Attock to get the state lands vacated from the clutches of the influential land grabbers through out the district in line with the other parts of the country.
But, with grave concern the illegal encroachers along the National Highways at GT road Gondal Mandi Attock left unchecked causing hurdles in vehicular flow on the Punjab-KP interprovincial route besides colossal loss to the national exchequer being genuine issues of public importance. They further said that the Gondal Mandi being a trade hub having population of more than 10 thousands is also a focal inter-linked point with more than 84 villages of Tehsil Hazro and Attock is situated along the inter provincial bordering route of KPK-Punjab contributing more than Rs.200 millions per annum to the budget.
