The negotiations over the contracts of Afghanistan air aviation systems have been continuing, the Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation said.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the MoTCA said that the contract with the UAE’s GAAC company has provided job opportunities for 900 people in the country.

“The negotiations about the provision of standard services and aviation control are underway,” said Ghulam Jailani Wafa, deputy of MoTCA.

The General Inspector of the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, Hassibullah Sorosh, said that drafts of documents have been prepared that can be effective for the safety of flights as well as aviation operations.

“With this agreement, the domestic flights will be conducted safely. We have had more than 1,600 domestic flights and we were able to transfer 164,899 passengers inside the country,” he said.

According to the officials, some weapons, ammunition, drugs, cash and gold have been seized in the country’s airports over the past 12 months.

“200 precious pieces and historic coins have been captured and transferred to the museum. 15,189 grams of gold has been detected and seized,” Jailan said.

This comes as Afghanistan is expected to sign a contract with Iran and Turkey regarding ground transportation. —ToloNews
