Relief activities continues in DG Khan, Rajanpur: DG PDMA

Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab Faisal Farid has said that on the instructions of the Punjab government, relief activities are continuing in DG Khan and Rajanpur, PDMA and the district administration are continuing rescue and relief operations in the flood-affected areas.

He said that so far more than 6000 people have been rescued from the flood areas and moved to safe places and 513 cattle have been rescued from the flood areas, 55 relief camps have been established in both districts and 1894 of 376 families have been rescued.

People are living in the relief camp. He said that all other facilities including three meals are being provided to the people living in the flood relief camp and the process of distributing three meals to more than 11000 flood victims is also going on.

He said that so far 33509 people have been provided with medical treatment facilities and more than 500 cattle are also present in the relief camp.1, 37000 animals have also been vaccinated against diseases.

He said that tents have been distributed to 12284 flood victims and dry ration for one month has also been distributed to 12564 flood affected families, 455 rescuers and 70 boats participated in the relief operations in the flooded areas. He said that according to the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, all resources are being used to help the flood victims.

Meanwhile, Provincial Disaster Management Authority organized a ceremony to hand over 17 latest vehicles, equipment and machinery to DG Rescue 1122 at the Chief Minister’s Office. PDMA handed over modern vehicles, equipment and machinery to Rescue 1122, Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi handed over the documents and keys of the vehicles to DG Rescue 1122 Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab Faisal Farid.

Speaking on this occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that Rescue 1122 has been equipped with modern vehicles, equipment and machinery to deal with emergency situations somewhere in Punjab province and today Rescue 1122 has crossed another milestone.

He said that PDMA and Rescue 1122 are providing professional services in Punjab, the plant planted in my previous era has become a tree today. Rescue 1122 staff in flood, earthquake or any other emergency situation.

Chief Secretary Kamran Afzal, Inspector General of Police Faisal Shahkar, Principal Secretary to Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Senior Member Board of Revenue, DG Rescue 1122 Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Information Secretary, DG PDMA Faisal Farid and concerned authorities were also present on the occasion.

9 water rescue units, 2 sky lift vehicles, 6 earth quick and disaster search and rescue vans, 36 hydraulic combi tools, 36 self contained breathing apparatus, 36 hydraulic concrete chain saws were provided by PDMA.

6 Life Locator, 6 Pneumatic Lifting Bag, 6 Chipping Hammer, 6 Acoustic Listening Device, 6 Fire Optic Camera with the communication device has been handed over to Rescue 1122.
