UO holds dengue day activities

A range of activities including seminar, walk and plantation were held at the University of Okara in connection with the Dengue Day.

The speakers of the seminar included Member National Assembly from Okara Chaudhary Riaz ul Hag Juj, Deputy Commissioner Okara Zahid Parvaiz Warraich and CEO Health Okara Mahaar Akhtar Hussain Baloch, Prof Dr Muhammad Wajid, Chairman Institute of Pure & Applied Zoology (IPAZ) and Registrar Dr Muhammad Tahir Khan.

In his opening note, Dr Tahir welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of dengue drive. Prof Wajid presented a review of the UO’s initiatives regarding the eradication of Dengue from the campus and its adjacent localities at large. He also guided the participants on necessary steps to counter dengue during the monsoon season.

Riaz ul Haq expressed grave pleasure on the progress of the university in the record time. He also applauded the university administration and students’ efforts to control dengue. “Dengue id as lethal as corona virus and it is impertinent to stay guards from it.”

Deputy Commissioner highlighted the initiatives of the district government to curb dengue. He advised the students to take stringent precautions to avoid dengue fever.

The CEO Health explained various symptoms of the dengue fever and necessary safeguards against it.

At the end of the seminar, the Registrar presented shields to the guests. The seminar was followed by a walk and plantation.
