The Provincial Quality Control Board (PQCB) Punjab, during its 241st meeting held here on Friday with Secretary Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department Imran Sikander Baloch in chair heard the under process cases of drugs.
The meeting was also attended by Additional Secretary Drugs Control Muhammad Sohail, chief drugs controller Punjab Azhar Jamal Saleemi, secretary PQCB, Shafique Khan, Prof. Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Sajid Bashir, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jamshed, Prof. Dr. Shehnaz Akhtar, Prof. Dr. Uzair, Prof. Dr. Naveed Iqbal Ansari and Dr. Muneeb Ashraf.
The PQCB during the meeting heard 119 under process cases of drugs, out of which 64 cases were related to drugs while 55 were for appeal for re-testing. The board approved to direct 12 of 55 re-testing cases to NIH.
10 cases were directed to drug courts, in 29 cases final warning was issued while in 1 case product specification inspection was recommended.
Secretary P&SHD said, “We strive to provide best quality drugs to the public which can save the lives of people. And that is the motto of the board.
The board is instructed to carry out strict measures to ensure that the drugs available in the market are up to the national and international standards.
Health of general public is our top priority.
