President think tank Institute of Peace and Devel-opment (INSPAD) Dr Muhammad Tahir Tabassum has said that the time for freedom of Kashmir is very close and there will be no compromise on the unity and solidarity of Kashmir.
Talking to media on Kashmir Solidarity Day, the former adviser for human rights to PM AJK said relations and trade with India cannot be at the cast of Kashmir. International organizations and institu-tions should be allowed to visit occupied Kashmir and Send fact-finding missions to Occupied Kash-mir to the United Nations, OIC and European Union to know the detailed situation of Kashmir.
Dr. Tahir Tabassum said that Kashmiris have made immense sacrifices for their right to self-determination and freedom and are still holding on. Pakistan has failed to highlight the Kashmir issue to the world. He said that no significant success is possible without resolving foreign policy contradic-tions. There is an urgent need for new effective measures. The country’s national policy should give access to public opinion institutions so that a com-prehensive and integrated policy can be formulated, he added.
He said that the Kashmiri people deserve our solidarity at the national level. The Kashmir issue needs to be understood and further highlighted. The performance of the Parliamentary Kashmir Commit-tee is negligible. He said that a Kashmiri should be made its chairman. The performance of the Kashmir Committee is even worse than that of Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
President INSPAD said that India has been against Pakistan from day one but it was unfortunate that the Afghan Taliban government was involved in cowardly acts of terrorism in Pakistan. He said that all political and religious parties should extend full cooperation to the Armed Forces and national institutions to eradicate terrorism.
Dr Tahir Tabassum added that implementation of the National Action Program should be expedited so that peace prevails in the country. And the secu-rity of the Pak-China Great CPEC project could be ensured.—INP
