Pakistani rupee strengthened against the US dollar for the fourth consecutive day, gaining 2 paisas (+0.01 percent) on Wednesday.
The State Bank of Pakistan said in a statement that the dollar opened at Rs176.43 in the interbank market and closed at Rs176.41. The rupee witnessed a trading range of 15 paisas during the session, showing the intraday high bid of 176.45 and low offer of 176.30. Within the open market, the rupee was traded at 177.50/178.50 per dollar.
The rupee has gained 57 paisas during the last three sessions and 36 paisas during this week. The local unit has appreciated by 10 paisas during the current year 2022 while it has devalued by Rs18.98 during the ongoing fiscal year 2021-22. —TLTP
