Role of Christian community in health sector commended

Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Prof. Dr. Sardar Muhammad Al-freed Zafar and Executive Director Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood have appreciated the efforts of Christians Community in the health sector.

They said that 800 Christian employees from grade 1 to 17 are performing their duties in General Hospital and they are working together with the Muslim community for the betterment and development of the Institutions.

A Christmas ceremony was organized by Pakistan Health Support Staff Association & Nursing Staff LGH/PINS here on Thursday and a 300 pound cake was also cut on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Sardar Muhammad Al-freed Zafar and Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood said that Islam as a religion teaches us brotherhood, tolerance and respect for humanity. They added that minorities in Pakistan have equal rights and opportunities for development. Similarly, complete freedom to live according to their religious beliefs while the Christian community’s invaluable services in the field of development, prosperity, education and health of Pakistan are commendable.

A large number of doctors, nurses and employees including Prof. Dr. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab, MS of both hospitals.

At the end of the ceremony, the Christian community sang religious songs and wished good luck for the New Year.
